My body has difficulty processing oral medications. I usually have to take a higher dose of medications such as narcotics for pain or get an injection for the medication to have the desired effect. The second day after surgery when all the nerve blocks and deadening had worn off, I had excruciating pain from knee replacement surgery and was crying all day. They gave me oral valium, oral tramadol, low doses of oral dilaudid, and low doses of dilaudid through my IV. The IV dilaudid helped some, but the oral meds didn't do anything and I told them so. Both my mom and I communicated to the nurses, the physician's assistant and Dr. Wright that I was in a lot of pain and that my body doesn't process oral meds like it should. No one changed the meds I was getting, no one changed the dosage. I didn't even see Dr. Wright after my surgery. I was in the bathroom, he came in and stood in the doorway of my room. My mom told him how much pain I was in. He said I am sure she is since she has fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. These two illnesses weren't the problem, it was my knee (from knee replacement surgery) that was hurting so bad! He didn't even stay long enough to check my knee and for me to talk to him. Prior to getting joint replacement surgery, the physician's assistant teaches a class on knee / hip replacement surgery. During the class, I specifically asked about pain management. He said that they would adjust pain meds if needed or even use a pain pump if needed. He lied! I felt like I was being tortured by not getting the pain relief I needed. I told them I was not getting any pain relief and no one seemed to give a damn. Would I go back to Dr. Wright? I don't know, I would really have to think about it.

The level of expertise in all aspects of this clinic and offices and all personnel are amazing. After two knee replacement surgeries, I would never go any place else.
