Was about to get charged over $900 for my insurance (I am the only one on my policy, had one claim for an incident earlier in the year) and so I decided to not renew my insurance. I called and asked for my insurance to not get renewed (I had just signed with another insurance company). Somehow that was misinterpreted to me canceling my insurance that day I called. So for a few days I was driving without any car insurance. When I realized this, I called and asked them that I had wanted my insurance to not get renewed, I didnt want to get it canceled immediately. Sure, they reinstated my insurance for the full duration (how it was originally). Then a few days after my new insurance kicked in, I received policy documents from AllState regarding my new insurance policy with them. Huh? I called and asked what was going on. I was told to ignore the documents because my policy had been canceled, and apparently I now have to pay a fee for my canceling. Wait, what? I never wanted to get it canceled in the first place, I only wanted to stop the renewal!! And even if I had canceled, why the heck wouldn't I have been told about this fee beforehand?!? Ridiculous. I will never do business with AllState. Awful.
